Healing Was Never Meant To Be A Solo Journey

Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to do difficult things when someone is walking beside you?
People join gyms with training partners.
Students learn from teachers.
Business owners seek mentors.
Children learn to ride a bike with someone running alongside them.
We understand this principle in almost every area of life.
Yet when it comes to grief…
Many people try to carry it completely alone.
Sometimes that’s because they don’t want to burden other people.
Sometimes it’s because they don’t think anyone could possibly understand.
Sometimes it’s because the people around them have moved on, while they’re still trying to make sense of what life looks like now.
So they quietly carry the weight by themselves.
The truth is, grief can be incredibly isolating.
Not because people don’t care.
But because it’s difficult for someone who hasn’t experienced your loss to truly understand what you’re carrying.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years is this:
Healing doesn’t happen because you stop hurting.
Healing happens because you keep moving forward—even on the days when you still hurt.
And that’s much easier when you don’t have to do it alone.
That doesn’t mean someone else can remove your grief.
They can’t.
But they can encourage you.
They can remind you that you’re making progress.
They can help you see hope on the days you can’t see it for yourself.
Sometimes, simply knowing someone else understands is enough to give you the strength to take one more step.
That’s why community matters.
Not because it takes your pain away…
But because it reminds you that you don’t have to carry it by yourself.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on something built around that very idea.
Not another course to watch.
Not more information to consume.
But a simple way for people to receive ongoing encouragement, practical guidance and support as they continue moving forward.
I’ll be sharing more about it later this week.
Until then, let me leave you with this thought.
You don’t have to have the whole journey figured out today.
You simply need to take the next step.
And remember…
You were never meant to walk this journey alone.
Keep moving forward.
